Retrospective registry based cross-sectional study on patients transplanted in Europe and North America. Data from Eurocord and CIBMTR indicate that 35% of adults UCBT recipients are older than 50 years.
Eurocord, 2-y OS rates for patients aged 50-59y is 47% in CLL patients
CIBMTR, corresponding OS rates was 40% in CLL patients
Implications:
- UCBT good alternative source for elderly patients with hematologic diseases.
